A digital twin is a dynamic, virtual replica of a physical system, or process that integrates actual data with simulation.

In the context of urban mobility, this encompasses transport networks, infrastructure assets (e.g., roads, bridges, traffic signals), vehicles, public transport and especially traveller behaviour.

Cape Town CBD - Digital Twin

This example demonstrates CBD operations - vehicles, public transport and  people moving in and around the road network and urban environment.

Simulated Operations

Operational issues are highlighted and tested to ensure safer mobility. Future management options - BRT lanes, one-way pairs, pedestrian priority - all can be investigated to design a City Vision for all.
